Francesca Santamaria è una danzatrice e autrice attiva nell’ambito delle performing arts.
Conclusi gli studi accademici al Balletto di Roma, continua la formazione tra Milano e La Biennale di Venezia. Dal 2019 danza, tra gli altri, per Roberto Zappalà, Moritz Ostrushnjak, Amos Ben-Tal, Manfredi Perego, Alexandra Pirici.
Nel 2021 crea e interpreta SHIFTING TOOLS, opera di videodanza presentata e premiata in festival nazionali e internazionali. Dal 2022 fa parte di Incubatore per futur_ coreograf_ CIMD.
Nel 2023 è coautrice e performer di Tutte le immagini scompariranno della compagnia Fannibanni’s e di RMX, progetto realizzato con Pietro Angelini e Vittorio Pagani. Dal 2024 è artista associata a CodedUomo e nello stesso anno debutta con il solo COME SOPRAVVIVERE IN CASO DI DANNI PERMANENTI, selezionato per la Vetrina della giovane danza d’autore 2023.

Contestualmente al percorso autoriale, si occupa di danza anche in ambito accademico. Si laurea alla Sapienza di Roma in Discipline dello Spettacolo con una tesi sulla drammaturgia della danza e partecipa dal 2021 a più progetti con l’ASAC della Biennale di Venezia.

Francesca Santamaria is a dancer and author active in the performing arts.
After completing her dance education at Balletto di Roma, she continues her formation between Milan and the Venice Biennale. From 2019 she dances, among others, for Roberto Zappalà, Moritz Ostrushnjak, Amos Ben-Tal, Manfredi Perego, Alexandra Pirici.
In 2021 she creates and interprets SHIFTING TOOLS, a Screendance work presented and awarded at national and international festivals. Since 2022 she’s part of Incubator for Future Choreographers – CIMD.
In 2023 she is co-author and soloist performer of Tutte le Immagini Scompariranno co-created with Company Fannibanni’s and RMX, a full length piece realized with Pietro Angelini and Vittorio Pagani.
Since 2024 she is an Associate Artist with CodedUomo and in the same year she debuts with COME SOPRAVVIVERE IN CASO DI DANNI PERMANENTI, selected for the Showcase of the Young Author’s Dance 2023(IT).

Alongside her authorial path, she interacts with academic research: she graduates from the Sapienza University of Rome in Performing Arts with a thesis on the dramaturgy of dance and since 2021 she participates in several projects with the ASAC of the Venice Biennale.
